This is a "point & shoot" camera, which means it doesn't posess either the subtleties or the resolution a professional photographer would require. That said, it's strong suit is it's availability. It's so small, and its form factor is so exactly suited to pocket or purse that it's likely to be at hand when it's wanted. I also prize the image stabilization provided by this little jewel as well as the large viewing/imaging screen on its back.
